Elysium Health offers health products such as dietary supplements and anti-aging drugs. It develops Index, an at-home biological age test kit, that measures 10 different aspects of aging using epigenetic science.
The test kit uses a saliva sample and is backed by an algorithmic platform for epigenetic examination to calculate biological age and system age by examining sites on the DNA where methylation has taken place. DNA methylation is an epigenetic modification that affects the way genes are expressed and how their genome-wide pattern changes predictably with age. The test kit makes use of an elysium chip, developed by biotechnology company Illumina . It takes six weeks for the results to arrive once users submit the saliva sample. Based on the results of the test, the users receive recommendations to improve their lifestyle and health. This biological age test kit was priced at USD 299 as of October 2023.
