Eyesee is a patented drone-based inventory solution designed to simplify and secure the control of stocks and locations of merchandise stored in pallet-racks in warehouses. Developed and patented by Hardis Group and Squadrone System, the system involves an operator deploying a drone at the entrance of each aisle. Using its sensors and indoor geolocation system, the Eyesee drone navigates through the aisles according to a predetermined flight plan, capturing data from logistics labels through its cameras. The operator can view the captured data in real time on a tablet and interact with the drone if necessary. The collected data is then sent to the warehouse management system (WMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to identify any stock or location errors.
Eyesee complies with industry standards and can read all 1D and 2D barcodes. It is designed to increase operational efficiency for manufacturers and logistics providers by automating inventory processes without requiring any modification or addition of fixed infrastructure in warehouses. The solution can be deployed within a few days. As of March 2022, it received CE marking, enabling full-scale production and marketing.
In March 2022, Hardis Group and Squadrone System announced the creation of a new company, Darwin Drones, dedicated to marketing, developing, and supporting the Eyesee solution. Darwin Drones offers a "Drone as a Service" model, providing the software, hardware, maintenance, and support in a rental-based pricing structure without usage limits.
