Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) is a global nonprofit organization that develops sustainable business strategies and solutions; grants memberships; and offers consulting, research, and cross-sector collaboration services. The organization encourages companies to create and deliver products and services in a way that treats people fairly and meets their needs within the boundaries of the earth’s resources; and establish market and policy frameworks that enable a sustainable future. Its role is to catalyze change within business by integrating sustainability into strategy and operations, and to promote collaboration among companies and their stakeholders for systemic progress toward a just and sustainable world. Business for Social Responsibility works with large multinational companies, government agencies, and global and local NGOs. It has a network of more than 250 member companies globally, which includes corporate members and associate members. AT&T Inc., Dell Inc., Bloomberg L.P., Cisco Systems Inc., eBay Inc., Pearson Inc., Rockefeller & Company, Google, Inc., and Time Warner are some of its corporate members. World Vision, International Compliance Group (ICG), Fairtrade America, Calvert Investments, Inc., Pacific Market International, LLC, CTIA - The Wireless Association, Asia Venture Philanthropy Network, and Scentsy, Inc. are some of its associate members. Business for Social Responsibility was founded in 1992 and is based in San Francisco, California, United States with offices in Copenhagen, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Paris, New York, Shanghai, and Tokyo.
