The Upcycle Company offers services that take dissolved air flotation (DAF) skim from animal harvest and prepared food plants and separate the oils and protein solids from the stick water. The Fat and Oil Extraction (FOX) technology developed by The Upcycle Company uses specialized heat tanks and tricanter centrifuges to clean and separate DAF skim into three distinct components: protein solids, oil, and stick water.
As of October 2024, the FOX technology can handle more than five million gallons of wastewater per day. The co-products of the Upcycle Company include a variety of end products such as animal feed, fertilizer, cosmetics, and biofuels.
The Upcycle Company announced plans in January 2023 to build a USD 8 million facility in Lee County. As of October 2024, the facility was still in development.
