OYA Renewables is a leading energy transition solutions platform focused on delivering long-term clean energy solutions across North America. Founded in 2009, the company has developed over 1,440 MWDC of solar projects and currently has a pipeline of nine GW of distributed, community, and utility-scale solar projects spanning 14 states. OYA Renewables is committed to providing affordable renewable energy and access to clean energy for underserved communities.
The company's technology and services encompass the development, construction, and operation of solar, wind, energy storage, and green hydrogen production facilities. OYA Renewables has secured significant financial backing, including a USUSD 216 million package in March 2023 for constructing 15 community solar projects in New York State. This financing comprised a USUSD 145 million construction-to-term loan led by CIT, a division of First Citizens Bank & Trust Company, and a USUSD 71 million tax equity commitment from Monarch Private Capital.
In November 2022, OYA Renewables formed a joint venture called Chrysalis Energy with Oil Well Shares to develop over three GW of renewable energy assets across 1.5 million acres in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. This landmark clean energy development is expected to result in over USD 3 billion in regional capital spending by 2030.
OYA Renewables has achieved commercial operation for several projects, including the 6.7 MWDC Robinson Road community solar farm in Orleans, New York, in June 2022, projected to generate approximately 10,490,000 kWh annually and offset an estimated 7,434 metric tons of carbon emissions.
Key customers and partnerships
OYA Renewables has formed strategic partnerships to expand its clean energy offerings. In June 2023, the company partnered with OpConnect, a US-based electric vehicle (EV) charging solution provider, to deploy OpConnect's EV charging solutions within OYA's pipeline of energy transition projects across the US.
Additionally, OYA Renewables has secured notable customers and subscribers for its community solar programs. In January 2023, two of OYA's community solar projects were selected for New York's Expanded Solar For All (E-SFA) program, delivering the benefits of clean energy to underserved New Yorkers enrolled in National Grid's Energy Affordability Program. Rensselaer County in New York has also signed an agreement to subscribe to OYA Renewables' state-wide community solar program.
