Founded in 2015, Copenhagen-based CanopyLAB’s platform offers white-label solutions for educational institutions and organizations, and a free learning solution for NGOs. The CanopyLAB platform includes a social network for learners, built-in pedagogical exercises, and a feature that allows the automatic generation of quizzes based on the learning content uploaded to the platform. The company partners with NGOs that provide youth and teachers free access to content on topics such as mental health, women’s rights, Sustainable Development Goals, remote teaching, blended learning, climate action and sustainability, and entrepreneurship, among others. As of January 2021, CanopyLAB’s clients include more than 200 companies and educational institutions and more than 100,000 youth and 25,000 teachers accessed courses through CanopyLAB’s free learning channels The LAB, TeacherLAB, and DocenteLAB.

In January 2021, the company raised USD 3 million in a funding round to support its international expansion in the K-12 and corporate learning markets, particularly in Latin America and Africa.
