Phi is a education-focused metaverse platform launched in March 2022 that gamifies the blockchain and allows on-chain identities to be visualized. The platform consists of two main components: Phi Quest and Phi Land. Phi Quest allows users to explore quests in collaboration with different Web3 protocols, so they can be rewarded with objects upon completion. It also offers “Campaign Quests,” which are time-limited quests that focus on a single protocol or ecosystem.
Phi Land allows users to create their personalized space using their ENS domain and populate it with in-game items, including objects, wallpapers, and baseplates, which can be obtained through Phi Quest and the platforms shop. Examples of on-chain activities to claim Phi Objects include holding NFTs, token holding, and swapping. Phi utilizes hyperlinks to connect lands by tying ENS domains to objects on a land, creating their own metaverse land address such as “username.eth.” In December 2022, Phi launched its platform on the Polygon mainnet and saw 34,000 lands minted with more than 1.2 million objects claimed.
Key customers and partnerships
As of January 2024, the company recorded over 73,000 unique users on its platform, with over 2 million objects minted.
Funding and financials
In February 2023, Phi raised USD 2 million in a seed funding round co-led by Chapter One and Delphi Digital. Funds were earmarked for collaborations with more blockchain protocols, developing the platform’s on-chain gamification methods, and improving its UI/UX design.
