Based in Ukraine, Integro-SD converts chicken manure into liquid organic fertilizer using a proprietary patented anaerobic fermentation process. The fermentation process eliminates harmful bacteria such as E.coli and salmonella from the waste and extracts only the beneficial nutrients. Integro-SD has validated the quality of its products by conducting laboratory tests throughout 2013–2020. Integro-SD’s fertilizer “Gumino de gallina” is a fully organic liquid fertilizer product that can be used for agricultural and fruit crops, orchards, ornamental plants, and garden crops and can be applied using a drip irrigation system.
The company claims its fertilizer improves crop yield, strengthens plant immunity, shortens ripening time, and improves soil fertility and soil health; the fertilizer has 3–4x the concentration of macronutrient compared to other animal-based fertilizers in the market and is high in micronutrients such as copper, zinc, and manganese. Furthermore, it has 90% organic matter and 7.9% humic acid content and offers similar performance to vermicompost (decomposed product using earthworms). Integro-SD has conducted multiple pilot projects testing the use of fertilizer on a number of fruit and vegetable crops including strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, and cabbage. The fertilizer was shown to increase crop yields for berries (+34%), cereals (+35%), vegetables (+25%), and fruits (+20%).
As of June 2022, the company’s fertilizer was used in more than 15 provinces across Ukraine. The company operates a single manufacturing plant in Kiev, Ukraine.
In March 2019, the company announced that it had received a grant of USD 71,00 under the European Horizon 2020 SME program. Integro-SD was to use the funds to study the organic fertilizer market in Europe.
