California-based Lifeforce is a health platform that allows its users to have their blood samples asynchronously interpreted by medical experts to improve a patient’s overall health. The company’s blood tests, extracted in person by registered phlebotomists, measure the user’s health against over 40 biomarkers with regard to physical, cognitive, sexual, and psychological performance. Post-extraction and analysis, users can consult virtually with specialists and health coaches to develop personalized care plans that incorporate lifestyle changes, nutraceuticals, hormone, and peptide therapies.
The company’s treatment model was created in consultation with specialists from several prominent medical institutions, such as Harvard Medical School and Cleveland Clinic, and the company is backed by influential figures, such as tennis star Serena Williams. The company operates on a subscription-basis where users are charged USD 349 for initial blood tests and biomarker screening, after which users are charged USD 129 per month for the company’s coaching, care plan tracking, medication, and therapies.
Funding and financials
In May 2023, the company raised USD 12 million in a Series A funding round co-led by M13 and Peterson Ventures, along with participation from several other venture capital firms. M13 previously incubated Lifeforce through its in-house venture studio, "Launchpad." The raised funds were set aside to expedite the company’s growth, expand its product offerings, and reinforce its market presence.
