Spera

Spera developed an Identity Security Posture Management platform that provides end-to-end identity attack surface management, risk reduction, and identity threat prevention capabilities. The platform creates a real-time, continuously updated inventory of identities and access across cloud and on-premises environments. This inventory is analyzed and normalized to provide security teams with insights for preventing and remediating identity-driven attacks. The solution helps organizations manage partially offboarded users, protect against stolen credentials, and prevent account takeovers. Customer feedback indicated that Spera helped solve more than 75% of critical issues within the first weeks of deployment. In December 2023, Okta announced its intent to acquire Spera, with the acquisition completing in February 2024. The platform is expected to be generally available through Okta in Spring 2024.

Spera's customers included Gravity Payments and Lionbridge, with the latter using the platform to reduce the attack surface of their applications by ensuring effective controls and streamlining identity risk remediation processes. The company integrated with major identity providers like Okta and Active Directory, as well as cloud service providers including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, GitHub, and Salesforce.
