 Captions, a video creation platform powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), has successfully raised USD 60 million in a Series C funding round. The round was led by Index Ventures and it saw participation from existing investors Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia Capital, and Andreessen Horowitz. New investors such as HubSpot Ventures, Adobe Ventures, and well-known celebrity Jared Leto also contributed. Following this funding round, the valuation of the company has escalated to USD 500 million.
 The funding will be utilized by the company to expand its machine learning team and invest more in its in-house research activities and technological infrastructure. The goal is to continue improving its video creation and editing technologies.
 Captions provides several user-friendly tools like AI Creator which is used for generating "talking videos", AI Edit for fast one-tap video editing, and Lipdub for creating realistic lip movements and body language in videos. It also offers features like avatars, captioning, dubbing, and audio correction, enabling users to create videos of studio quality. The mobile application of Captions has been downloaded by over 10 million users in the past year alone.
