The company provides talent based on its rigorous vetting process by using algorithms for skills diagnosis, and claims that 66% of its talent have consulting and operational experience. BTG operates from offices in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Austin, San Francisco, and Boston.

The company is focused on enterprise clients and its customer profile includes about 50% of the Fortune 100. In 2017, the platform recorded USD 45 million in gross spend. In June 2020, BTG announced its collaboration with leading freelancer marketplace, Upwork. The collaboration will give respective clients and freelancers access to both networks, increasing the pool of buyers and sellers for the two platforms.

In 2018, the company received a minority investment from American staffing company Kelly Services, after closing its Series B funding of USD 8 million in 2016.
