Salt Edge offers an open banking application programming interface (API) to third-party FinTech providers, banks, and lenders, allowing them to access banking channels and end-customer transaction history. This empowers enterprise customers to develop FinTechs that enable payment initiation, data exchange, and data enrichment. The company has offices in Canada and Europe and provides APIs that connect to financial institutions across the Americas, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region.
In addition to enabling third-party FinTechs to access account information and payment initiation channels, Salt Else also offers the technology required by banks to become compliant with open banking regulations. This mainly includes PSD2 compliance; however, in November 2022, Salt Edge expanded to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) , to help FIs comply with the new open banking transition regulations of The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
As of November 2024, Salt Edge was integrated with more than 5,000 financial institutions across the globe.
