Civitai, originally called “Model Share,” allows members to post and discover AI image models created using Stable Diffusion, along with the resulting images, making model sharing and AI image creation more accessible.

To use Civitai, users can upload a series of images that illustrate the desired style. Then, users select a base model, such as standard, anime, or more realistic model, among others. After about an hour, the freshly created model becomes available, allowing users to produce their images using the captured style. Images produced on the platform include metadata detailing prompts and utilized resources.

Civitai had 4 million registered users and approximately 10,000 unique creators uploading models per month as of March 2024.
