Wrike provides tools for workplace teams to organize, plan, collaborate, and track the progress of ongoing projects. Wrike offers features under six categories: Initiate Work, Structure Work, Collaborate, Report and Analyze, Integrate and Automate, and Manage Your Workspace. Under the above segments, the platform provides tools such as folders, projects, tasks and subtasks, custom item types, dynamic request forms, and templates.

Users can assign work, automate assignments, track effort and budget, and manage capacity through views, workload charts, resource bookings, and job roles. The platform allows collaboration through cross-tagging, internal and guest approvals, a live document editor, and proofing software. The analytics view provides key insights into project progress, assignees, and marketing insights. Time tracking, budgeting, and file storage features are also available. Wrike operates a subscription model, which includes a freemium version, while paid plans start at USD 9.8 per month per user.

In January 2021, the company was acquired by the Santa Clara-based software company Citrix for USD 2.25 billion. However, in September 2022 the company broke away from Citrix with financial backing from Vista Equity Partners and Evergreen Coast Capital, following their acquisition of Citrix and its combination with TIBCO Software.

In July 2023, the company was acquired by Symphony Technology Group (STG), a private equity firm specializing in software, data, and analytics. Under the terms of the deal, the full ownership of Wrike was transferred to STG.

Key customers and partnerships

As of June 2024, the company had a customer base of over 20,000 including Syneos, Lyft, Siemens, Ogilvy, and P&G.

Funding and financials

In May 2015, Wrike raised USD 15 million in a series B round led by Scale Venture Partners with participation from DCM Ventures and previous investor Bain Capital Ventures. The funds were allocated for team expansion and international growth.
