Solukon

Solukon is a Germany-based automated depowdering systems provider for metal and polymer additive manufacturing parts. Solukon’s flagship products include the SFM-AT800-S and SFM-AT1000-S depowdering systems as well as SPR-Pathfinder, a depowdering software. The company's Smart Powder Recuperation (SPR) technology employs programmable two-axis rotation and adjustable vibration to automatically remove unfused powder from 3D-printed components within a sealed process chamber. SFM-AT800-S can handle parts up to 600 mm in height, while the SFM-AT1000-S accommodates components up to 1,000 mm with weights up to 800 kg. 

Solukon also claims to be the first manufacturer in the world to offer depowdering software. The SPR-Pathfinder uses the build job’s CAD file to automatically calculate the motion sequence for the Solukon system to remove excess powder, reducing the requirement for human programming. 

In September 2023, The company introduced the SFM-PCU powder collection unit, enabling safe powder handling and extraction within a closed system. In October 2024, Solukon went on to launch the SFM-AT1500-S, which the company claims is its largest metal depowdering system. The SFM-AT1500-S can handle parts measuring up to 600 mm x 600 mm x 1,500 mm or 820 mm x 820 mm x 1,300 mm, with a maximum weight capacity of 2,100 kg. 

Key customers and partnerships

As of November 2022, Solukon installed over 200 metal powder removal systems across 28 countries for its customers. Solukon's systems are used by leading manufacturers such as EOS, AMCM, Siemens Energy, SLM Solutions NASA, and CERN.

In May 2023, Solukon expanded its distribution network in the US through partnerships with DMARK Corporation, Hartwig Inc., MAHAR Tool Supply Company, Phillips Corporation, and BahFed Corp.
