Aclima is a climate tech company that has pioneered a novel approach to mapping and analyzing air pollution and greenhouse gases at an unprecedented scale and resolution. Utilizing its network of roving and stationary sensors, Aclima provides the broadest set of pollutant measurements available in the market, offering block-by-block resolution. The company's groundbreaking data and analytics empower its customers across various industries, government agencies, and communities to reduce emissions, improve public health, and deliver clean air for all.
In July 2022, Aclima commenced a historic collaboration with New York State, deploying its mobile-mapping technology to measure hyperlocal air pollution and greenhouse gases at the community block level across 10 disadvantaged communities. This statewide initiative collects data on criteria pollutants, greenhouse gases, and toxics through a fleet of specialized vehicles equipped with advanced sensors. The vehicles measure fine particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, ozone, carbon monoxide, methane, carbon dioxide, black carbon, and benzene, among other pollutants, at different times, days, and seasons to create a comprehensive understanding of typical pollution levels.
Aclima's proprietary software, Aclima Pro, empowers users to analyze and visualize the company's unique data, combining it with hundreds of additional contextual layers to drive climate and public health actions. The results will inform New York's efforts, in collaboration with partners, to reduce emissions and address health burdens and inequities in communities disproportionately impacted by air pollution. This initiative supports New York's goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 85% by 2050, as mandated by the state's Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act.
