Volansi is a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drone logistics company founded in 2015 and based in California. The company specializes in autonomous drone delivery services, focusing on long-range, heavy-payload transportation. Volansi's product line includes the VOLY C10 and VOLY 50 series drones. The VOLY C10 can carry up to 10 pounds of cargo over 50 miles, while the VOLY 50 can transport up to 50 pounds of cargo or sensor payloads over 400 miles, with a flight duration of up to eleven hours. The VOLY 50, designed and manufactured in the US, features a modular, open system design for efficient field assembly and redundant lift motors for enhanced reliability. Volansi's drones are capable of operating in remote locations and challenging terrains, serving industries such as healthcare, mining, and oil and gas. The company's technology aims to improve access to critical supplies, particularly in hard-to-reach rural areas. In October 2020, Volansi collaborated with Merck to launch a commercial drone delivery project in North Carolina, focusing on the transportation of temperature-controlled medicines. This initiative marked the first drone delivery of cold chain medicines within the US.
