Somatix uses AI and wearable technology to provide remote patient monitoring solutions for various settings, such as hospitals, senior living, and smoking cessation. Its main product, SafeBeing, is a platform that tracks and analyzes the gestures and behaviors of patients or seniors using a smartband and a mobile app. SafeBeing can monitor aspects such as walking, sleeping, falling, drinking, medication intake, smoking, emergency button, activity levels, wandering, heart rate, oxygen saturation, risk of urinary tract infections, pressure sore risk, and readmission risk. The platform also provides alerts, insights, and reports to the caregivers via the SafeBeing Caretaker app and allows residents to manage their own activity and well-being through the SafeBeing resident app and the SafeBeing resident wearable smartband.
Key customers and partnerships
Somatix partnered with PointClickCare in April 2020 to integrate its system into PointClickCare’s platform. Through the partnership, Somatix’ SafeBeing was fully integrated with PointClickCare’s core electronic health record (EHR) platform, allowing users to benefit through passive data collection via SafeBeing, enabling caregivers to continuously monitor and analyze seniors' daily routines.
Somatix then partnered with Roche in July 2022 to provide an AI-powered remote patient monitoring solution for patients with dementia. Through the partnership, Somatix provided its SafeBeing monitoring solution to dementia patients in Portugal as a part of Roche's "Building Tomorrow Together" initiative, run by Beta-i. The companies then expanded their partnership in July 2023 to launch a medication compliance capability service, which used AI-enabled wearable technology to help monitor patients with early- and mid-stage dementia.
