Additive Manufacturing Solutions (AMS), a UK-based 3D printing company, offers support in material development, parameter optimization, testing, and reporting. This includes providing additive manufacturing (AM) samples in standard forms or prepared specimens, along with materials testing capabilities ranging from tensile to fatigue testing, microscopy, surface roughness analysis, and indentation plastometry. AMS is also engaged in developing powder manufacturing and cleaning solutions.
AMS collaborates with accredited labs and uses the GranuTools suite for powder testing, offering services and quotes as it prepares for an online launch in 2024. Moreover, AMS extends support for AM adoption, assisting in strategic leadership, specification authoring, certification routes, and facility design to help clients implement their AM strategies. AMS planned to launch the Additive Manufacturing Academy in 2024.
Key customers and partnerships
In December 2023, AMS partnered with the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) for research on reusing surplus defense materials in AM. The collaboration aimed to establish a domestic supply chain, initially focusing on trials for atomization, additive manufacturing feasibility, and future material exploration. This should progress to the material qualification and industrialization stages.
