Kinto is a DeFi company that offers a decentralized KYC'ed Layer 2 blockchain capable of supporting both financial institutions and decentralized protocols. The company's platform is built on top of the Ethereum network using the OP Stack. It is designed to provide safe and insured access to financial services. Kinto enables providers to conduct network-native KYC and investor accreditation checks compliant with US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements, allowing them to access capital in Ethereum by offering traditional financial services on-chain.
Funding and financials
In November 2023, Kinto raised USD 5 million in two funding rounds. Kyber Capital Crypto led both rounds with a contribution of USD 1.5 million in the pre-seed round and USD 3.5 million in the second round. Kinto planned to use the funds to expand its team and further its network development efforts.
