Spineology is a medical device company specializing in ultra-minimally invasive spine surgery. The company's flagship product is OptiMesh, an expandable spinal implant for lumbar interbody fusion procedures. OptiMesh is designed to be delivered through the smallest insertion portal in the lumbar interbody market and dynamically conforms to a patient's unique endplate morphology, expanding to one of the largest implant footprints available. This technology aims to provide strength and stability to restore disc height, achieve alignment goals, and promote robust fusion while minimizing tissue disruption and enhancing patient recovery.
The OptiMesh implant is unique in that nearly the entire implant is comprised of biologics, offering a comprehensive fusion scaffold and an efficient way to deliver biologics to the spine. It is backed by Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) level data and holds the only De Novo Grant for spinal fusion. As of August 2024, OptiMesh had been used in more than 50,000 procedures and was supported by over 20 years of clinical experience and 20 clinical publications.
In addition to OptiMesh, Spineology offers other spine surgery products such as the Palisade Fixation system, a low-profile percutaneous extended tab system designed to pair with Mesh technologies in the lumbar spine, and the Threshold V2, an MIS-Open system for treating various thoracolumbar spine pathologies. In August 2022, the company launched OptiLIF Endo, a fully endoscopic spine fusion system that uses a single tubular retractor to integrate endoscopes and endoscopic equipment into lumbar interbody fusion procedures.
