Specular Theory specializes in creating and distributing immersive software applications for the US Military and commercial enterprises. The company’s flagship product is the Experiential AAR Lightweight Simulator (EARL), a high-fidelity VR training solution designed for the US Air Force (USAF). EARL is a lightweight simulator that runs on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and incorporates a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) plugin and force feedback controls to provide accurate, high-fidelity training experiences. 

The simulator features AI instructions, adaptive learning, and multiplayer functionality, enabling individual, team, and multi-aircraft training scenarios. Types of training offered include flight simulations and interactive boom pod trainers for air refueling operations.

Specular Theory also develops custom content for enterprises, having partnered with companies such as Sony Pictures and Accenture to create VR content for specific use cases.
