Poseidona, founded in 2022, is a Spanish food tech company that develops alternative proteins from algal sidestreams and invasive seaweeds. According to the company, its production method consumes less water and land and emits less carbon emissions than animal-based or conventional plant-based proteins.
Poseidona currently uses side streams from "gellifier" production and plans on integrating Rugulopterix Okamurae, an invasive Mediterranean seaweed, into its production process in the future.
