Bitfinity offers blockchain infrastructure focused on integrating Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) with the Bitcoin blockchain. Built on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP), the project aims to extend Bitcoin’s use cases beyond being a store of value by enabling Ethereum developers to create Bitcoin-compatible decentralized applications. Developers can build decentralized applications that can interact with Bitcoin and leverage ICP’s “proof-of-useful-work” consensus model to enable smart contracts to hold and transfer Bitcoin and Ordinal assets on-chain.
Moreover, users can build a range of dApps such as exchanges, lending protocols, wallets, decentralized ID protocols, and token bridges, among many others. As of January 2024, Bitfinity’s ecosystem of dApps included Bitfnity Wallet, ChapSwap, Metamask, Neurobridge, and Anima, among several others.
Funding and financials
In January 2024, Bitfinity raised USD 7 million in a token funding round led by Polychain Capital and ParaFi Capital at a valuation of USD 130 million. The company earmarked the funds to support the launch of its mainnet.
