Verity is a Zurich-based company that provides an autonomous indoor drone system for inventory tracking and management. Founded in 2014 by Raffaello D'Andrea, the former co-founder of Kiva Systems (acquired by Amazon in 2012), Verity's solution enables fully automated inventory scanning using self-flying warehouse drones that do not require human operators and can operate in dark conditions.
These drones can provide accurate real-time data on inventory levels, locations, and potential misplacements, eliminating the need for costly and error-prone manual scanning processes. Verity's system offers a zero-error inventory management solution, cutting labor and equipment costs, improving customer service, and reducing waste and CO2 emissions. As of July 2023, the company's drones were installed in over 80 warehouses across 13 countries on three continents, performing millions of autonomous inventory checks monthly.
In March 2023, Verity raised USD 32 million in Series B funding led by A.P. Moller Holding, with participation from Exor Ventures and others. This round was further extended to USD 43 million in July 2023 with additional investment from Qualcomm Ventures. Since its inception in late 2015, Verity has raised approximately USD 74 million in total funding. The company was acquired by an undisclosed buyer in 2024, with further details of the acquisition provided in the sources.
