Pantonium provides public transit management solutions for transforming public transportation from fixed route services to on-demand macrotransit solutions. Pantonium’s EverRun platform uses a proprietary routing algorithm to automatically optimize journeys and self-adjust routes in real time in response to user demand, delays, and cancellations. The platform is built to operate as either a standalone system or to be integrated with public transportation with fixed routes. The platform is a cloud-based system with no hardware installation required, while commuters can book rides via its app or web portal or by phone.
The firm claims that its platform can reduce the cost per rider and encourage greater use of public transportation. It claims that in its initial pilot program, public transit ridership had increased by more than 300% and there was a 30% reduction in vehicle mileage.
Key customers and partnerships
Pantonium’s platform has been deployed in more than 10 cities across the US and Canada, mostly on a pilot basis.
Funding and financials
The firm received ~CAD 2.1 million (~USD 1.5 million) in June 2020 as a grant from the Sustainable Development Technology Company (SDTC), an independent foundation created by the Government of Canada to support cleantech industries. The funding is to further develop Pantonium’s platform.
