Optomec provides additive manufacturing solutions including 3D printers for metals and electronic products as well as associated software. Optomec's Laser Engineered Net Shape (LENS) technology for 3D-printed metals and Aerosol Jet technology for 3D-printed electronics, enable users to design, build, and maintain fully functional end-use parts such as antennas, sensors, jet systems, and engines. Users can print 3D objects with powdered metals as well as print on a variety of substrates including plastics, ceramics, and metallic structures.
These technologies also allow for the addition of materials to existing 3D parts produced through conventional methods like CNC machining or injection molding. Moreover, the company also provides software for users to import neutral or native cad formats, develop additive or hybrid build strategies, and simulate and control processes.

In January 2024, Optomec partnered with NovaCentrix, a provider of conductive inks for additive manufacturing, to streamline printed electronics manufacturing processes by combining NovaCentrix's Metalon JS-A426 silver nanoparticle ink and other variations with Optomec's printers. It went on to partner with Siemens to jointly launch a new laser cladding solution for metal repair, in November 2024. The solution uses directed energy deposition (DED) technology for laser cladding fabrication, featuring Optomec's Autoclad vision software for custom toolpath generation, and Siemen's SINUMERIK ONE CNC capabilities for precision machining, and digital twin functionality.
