PTx Trimble is a joint venture formed in April 2024 by AGCO Corporation (85% stake) and Trimble (15% stake), combining Trimble's precision agriculture business with AGCO's JCA Technologies. The company develops precision agriculture technologies focused on guidance, autonomy, precision spraying, connected farming, data management, and sustainability solutions. Its product portfolio includes WM-FieldForm, a water management solution that helps farmers control water movement in fields through complex landforming, grading, leveling, and terracing projects, which can improve crop yield by up to 30%.
In August 2024, PTx Trimble introduced OutRun, an autonomous retrofit grain cart solution designed for John Deere 8R or 8000R tractors with IVT, enabling autonomous grain cart operation. The company follows a retrofit-first, mixed-fleet strategy, allowing farmers to upgrade existing equipment with modern precision agriculture capabilities. By 2028, AGCO's consolidated precision agriculture revenue, which includes PTx Trimble, is projected to exceed USD 2.0 billion.
PTx Trimble operates through three primary channels: specialized precision agriculture dealers who help farmers retrofit existing equipment, relationships with over 100 OEM partners for factory integration, and factory-fit technology integration with AGCO's brands including Fendt, Massey Ferguson, and Valtra.
