Zest offers a lending protocol built on Stacks, a Bitcoin Layer 2 network, which enables users to borrow and lend Bitcoin. The protocol uses a bridging asset named sBTC, which is pegged to the value of Bitcoin, to allow users to deposit Bitcoin through a native Bitcoin blockchain transaction and fund their account balances. Users can then use the pegged tokens for lending or yield generating activities on the protocol.

As of May 2024, the protocol’s lending infrastructure was live on Stacks’ money market platform, ahead of the official launch of the sBTC token.
