Klineo is a France-based company that offers a tool to help with patient recruitment in oncology-related clinical trials. The company’s AI-based platform allows both patients and their doctors to find France-based clinical trials for treating skin cancer, breast cancer, and lymphoma. Patients or doctors begin by creating a medical profile, which consists of the patient’s health data and is linked to their oncologist’s profile. Users can then search through trials listed on the platform, identify and share a potential trial with their patients or oncologist, contact the trial operator, and, if patients are eligible, enroll in the trial.
As of April 2024, the company’s platform was in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and hosted its users’ health data on Health Data Hosts that are ISO-certified by the French Ministry of Health.
Key customers and partnerships
In March 2022, the company was selected for a mentorship program with Pfizer and accelerator WILCO to help the company develop its solution and deploy its platform at scale.
In October 2023, Klineo partnered with AstraZeneca to increase access to clinical trials in the field of triple negative breast cancer.
Funding and financials
In April 2024, Klineo raised EUR 2 million (USD 2.1 million) in an investment round led by BPI France, along with contributions from several individual investors. The raised funds were set aside to expand the company’s operations and its development efforts to extend its coverage to cover other pathologies (such as rare and neurological diseases) and other types of cancers, with short-term plans to include lung cancer. The company planned to cover trials for all cancer types by the end of 2024. The company also planned to use the funds to increase its business reach across Europe and the US, along with expanding its team.
