Vanetta Food, founded in 2023, is a Spanish food tech startup that creates sustainable plant-based meat alternatives. It initially started as an artisanal operation but was selected for the VíaGalicia accelerator program supported by the Xunta de Galicia, aiming to industrialize its processes within a year. In 2023, Vanetta was recognized as the first Galician plant-based meat producer and had four operating bases in Gondomar, Vigo, Narón, and Ponteareas.
Vanetta Foods aims to distinguish itself by recreating traditional Spanish and Galician recipes using plant-based ingredients, rather than producing generic meat substitutes like burgers or sausages. Its portfolio, which includes a vegan version of the traditional Galician zorza sausage, a loin-style marinated seitan product, and Austrian-style plant-based cachopo, is made using clean labels, free from additives and containing only plant-based proteins derived from soy, peas, chickpeas, and wheat.
