Gaiyo

Gaiyo is a Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) provider based in the Netherlands that offers direct access to various shared mobility providers and public transportation options through its mobile app. The company's primary focus revolves around guiding motorists toward smart travel solutions, such as parking their vehicles and continuing their journeys via shared mobility or public transit. Gaiyo's app presents users with a real-time overview of available transportation modes, including trains, trams, buses, shared cars, e-bikes, and e-scooters, along with essential details like departure times, travel durations, and costs.

As of September 2023, Gaiyo's app integrates over 20 mobility partners, including public transit operators like HTM in The Hague, GVB in Amsterdam, RET in Rotterdam, and U-OV in Utrecht, as well as regional train services from NS International, Arriva, and Connexxion. Additionally, the app offers access to shared mobility services such as electric scooters from Tier, bike-sharing from Donkey Republic, Cargoroo, Haagshe Stadsfiets, OV-fiets, Urbee, Tier, and HTM-Fiets, and car-sharing options like MyWheels, Amber, GreenWheels, Share Now, and Stapp.in. Users can also conveniently book parking spots and purchase train tickets directly through the app.

Gaiyo's business model revolves around selling mobility services and receiving commission fees from transport providers. The company expanded its offerings in 2022 by launching Gaiyo Business, which caters to corporate clients by allowing employees to plan, book, and travel using shared mobility, public transit, and parking through a single app and account for both business and personal trips.

In May 2023, Gaiyo acquired Mobility Mixx, a Dutch corporate mobility solution provider, further enhancing its services for business clients. The acquisition enabled Gaiyo to offer services like OV-chipcard travel, refueling/recharging, mobility budget management, and tracking employees' CO2 emissions, which will be mandatory for employers starting in 2024.
