QinetiQ was formed in July 2001 when the UK Ministry of Defence split its Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA). The company was initially established as a public-private partnership before being floated on the London Stock Exchange in February 2006. For the fiscal year ended March 2024, QinetiQ reported revenue of GBP 1.91 billion.
