Israeli-based agritech company Harmoniz Seeds was formed from the merger of TomaTech and Nirit Seeds in 2022 after the companies were acquired by AP Partners Fund and Discount Capital, becoming one of the largest vegetable breeding seed organizations in Israel. Harmoniz, headquartered in Israel, has operating offices in the Netherlands, Spain, the UK, Italy, Russia, Canada, and Mexico.
Harmoniz Seeds combines the molecular biology and breeding technologies of the two companies to produce tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers, which offer increased yields, enhanced flavor, and are sustainable. Harmoniz also introduced a Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV) Resistant Portfolio within its existing tomatoes and peppers. The R&D team of Harmoniz identified specific DNA markers that elicit resistance to ToBRFV. The company has classified its resistant products as high resistance (HR) or intermediate resistance (IR).
As of 2024, Harmoniz Seeds offers a variety of over 110 tomatoes and 10 peppers. Harmoniz categorizes its products under two groups: 1) the small- and medium-sized groups, which are subcategorized into mid-size clusters, midi-plum, cocktail, mini plum, and cherry plum, and 2) the large-sized group subcategorized into standard loose, large cluster, ox heart, and beef.
In August 2023, it established a new company, Harmoniz NL, through its acquisition of Plant Factory Netherlands to expand its operations in Northern Europe.
