FlyNow Aviation develops electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft called eCopters, which feature a coaxial rotor design with two counter-rotating propellers. The company's product line includes cargo and passenger variants powered by battery-electric drivetrains, with future hydrogen fuel cell versions planned. The eCopter utilizes four independent electric motors and fixed-pitch rotor blades, operating at an estimated cruise speed of 130 km/h with a range of 50 km for the battery-powered versions. The aircraft employs a simple modular design consisting of core subsystems including rotors, cabin, batteries, and electric motors, aimed at reducing production complexity and operating costs.
The company completed testing of two full-scale proof-of-concept aircraft in summer 2023, validating the mechanical, electrical, acoustic and systemic performance. FlyNow's eCopters operate using automatic flight along predetermined routes rather than autonomous navigation. Safety features include redundant critical systems, collision avoidance capabilities, and bird detection sensors. The company plans to begin commercial operations with its cargo variant C200B, which can carry payloads up to 200 kg, in 2026, followed by the introduction of passenger versions P1B and P2B. In February 2024, FlyNow Aviation entered into partnerships for deployments in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, with plans to establish assembly lines and regional offices in these markets.
