Texas Instruments (TI, NASDAQ: TXN) designs, manufactures, and sells semiconductors to an assortment of end-market industries worldwide. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, the company was founded in 1951, following on from its predecessor Geophysical Service Inc. Over the years, TI has strengthened its capabilities within the semiconductor space and expanded within the US and globally. In 2011, it acquired National Semiconductor, bolstering its analog semiconductor operations. TI generated USD 20 billion in revenue in 2022.

TI has three operating segments: Analog, Embedded Processing, and Other. The Analog segment designs power products that help manage power flow and signal chain components that process real-world signals into digital data. The Embedded Processing segment designs and manufactures components that provide processing and computational functionality to electronic systems. Meanwhile, the Other segment comprises TI’s digital light processing (DLP) products, calculators, and non-revenue generating corporate functions.

TI’s largest market, based on the location of the end-customer headquarters, is the US (33.0% of 2022 revenue), while China and the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region follow as the second and third largest (both with 24.0% of 2022 revenue). It also plans to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 25% (from a 2015 baseline) by end-2025.
