VesselBot

VesselBot is a technology company focused on the maritime industry, offering innovative digital solutions to optimize vessel performance, reduce costs, and enable operational efficiencies. Their flagship product is a vessel emissions monitoring and management system that provides accurate and granular data on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for individual vessels, voyages, and cargo shipments.

Unlike traditional methodologies that rely on average conversion factors, VesselBot has developed a proprietary approach involving vessel-specific digital twins. These digital replicas are created using actual GPS data and waypoint analysis, enabling precise calculation of fuel consumption and emissions based on a vessel's characteristics, size, engine specifications, weather conditions, and voyage details.

As of November 2023, VesselBot's database covers approximately 5,500 to 6,000 container vessels, encompassing a wide range of vessel groups, including VLCSs, ULCSs, and Post Panamax II vessels. Their system has demonstrated significant improvements in emission tracking, with a reported 12% decrease in average emissions per kg/tonne between January and July 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.

VesselBot's technology has enabled carriers and shippers to gain visibility into their Scope three emissions, facilitating compliance with environmental regulations such as the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS). By benchmarking emissions against industry averages, clients can make informed decisions to optimize their supply chain operations and reduce their carbon footprint.

In addition to its emissions monitoring capabilities, VesselBot has also developed products focused on vessel tracking, monitoring, and predictive analytics. These solutions leverage automatic identification system (AIS) data, machine learning, and historical data to provide insights into vessel ownership, usage patterns, and cargo flow.

In April 2020, VesselBot collaborated with Spire Maritime, a division of Spire Global, to develop products based on Spire's automatic identification system (AIS) data. This partnership aimed to enhance vessel tracking, monitoring, and predictive capabilities, enabling customers to optimize performance and reduce time spent in ports.

More recently, VesselBot has joined forces with project44, a leading supply chain visibility platform, to integrate its emissions calculation capabilities into project44's Movement platform. This collaboration allows organizations to predict and mitigate their future emissions, manage compliance risks, and gain a competitive advantage in sustainable supply chain operations.

Another notable partnership is with MOL Consolidation Service (America) Inc., a subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL). VesselBot's technology provides MOL with a comprehensive decision-making tool to improve operational excellence by leveraging real-time data and optimizing greenhouse gas emissions.
