Founded in 2007, Tanium is a cyber asset and inventory management provider based in the US. The company protects more than 25 million endpoints, including servers, workstations, cloud, mobile, containers, and OT/IT devices in real-time as of August 2021. The company’s unified endpoint management platform incorporates asset discovery and inventory, configuration management, patch management, software management, and performance monitoring.
Tanium offers an endpoint detection and response (EDR) solution using its patented endpoint communications architecture. The EDR solution features a single dashboard that allows enterprises to gain visibility on their endpoint inventory, proactively identify vulnerabilities and threats, and respond to cyberthreats. Tanium is available on the AWS Marketplace, with local data centers operating across the US, Germany, Japan, Canada, UK, Brazil, and Australia.
As of August 2021, Tanium was used by half of the Fortune 100 companies, eight of the 10 largest US financial institutions, and five branches of the US Armed Forces. The company’s notable partners include AWS, Google Cloud, Verizon, PwC, Salesforce, and IBM. Tanium partnered with Google Cloud in August 2020 to integrate its threat response solution with the latter’s analytics platform, Google Chronicle, to help organizations to investigate, detect, and respond to advanced persistent cyber-attacks. During the same period, the company also partnered with IBM to create an endpoint security and compliance monitoring solution for hybrid cloud workloads of highly regulated industries, such as healthcare, financial services, and government. In November 2021, the company partnered with the endpoint security company, Deep Instinct to deliver an integrated threat response solution for endpoint security.
