MentalHappy is a California-based digital peer-to-peer support service for mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. The company offers support groups for culturally sensitive topics and claims to be the first digital peer support platform developed to provide people of all races, genders, and economic statuses with a space to discuss their emotional wellbeing. In addition, the company offers digital toolkits, weekly talks from health and wellness professionals, and tailored exercises for each support group.
The company operates a subscription model that costs USD 7 per month for weekly group meetings, with the ability to be anonymous, along with access to two support groups. MentalHappy launched in beta in December 2020 with more than 300 users. The company plans to officially launch its mobile app in July 2021 and had more than 2,500 individuals on its waitlist as of May 2021.
