Based in Poland, Bin-e offers IoT and AI-based smart bins that automatically recognize, sort, and compress recyclables. The company provides users access, via its app, to real-time data on technical status, fill level control, and advanced reports on waste type. This helps Bin-e users optimize logistics services for the sorted and compressed waste collected in the bin. The company provides its waste sorting solutions to waste management companies, municipalities, commercial entities, and households.

Founded in 2015, the company signed its first customer, Interseroh, a waste management company in Poland in 2017. Some of the recent customers include PwC UK and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The smart bin can either be bought or used on a rental basis. In 2017, the office version of the bin was priced at EUR 430, and a subscription fee of EUR 107 was charged per month for use of the app. The company reports that the household version is priced less and will not have a subscription fee.

The company has expanded its services across Poland, UK, and Sweden. Further, it claims that its waste sorting system is 92% precise, reduces waste management costs by 80%, and improves time management and efficiency by 70%. The company also customizes the bins according to preferences in terms of size, color, and outlook.

The company had a Series A funding round in November 2020, though the amount remained undisclosed.
