Kipod, founded in Belarus offers video surveillance solutions targeting public security and smart cities. Facial recognition technology is used in Kipod’s Smart City Platform (one of the company’s projects) to detect violations, search for criminals and missing people, find stolen cars etc. with the help of video analytics. Kipod is used in the US, Ireland, Russia, and Azerbaijan apart from Belarus. The company’s facial recognition software is powered by Intel’s OpenVINO toolkit – a powerful deep learning inference engine. Kipod is currently owned by Synesis, a venture studio based in Minsk, Belarus, which has investments in over 15 technology companies.

Kipod serves public sector organizations, law enforcement agencies, and urban planners, particularly in smart city initiatives. Kipod plays a key role in Moscow’s facial recognition system, which is used extensively for security monitoring, including in the Moscow Metro.
