Vampr, a sort of “ LinkedIn for musicians”, offers an online social-professional platform where creators can network with other professionals to collaborate, create music, and monetize their content. The Vampr Pro subscription service (USD 4.99 per month) provides digital distribution of creators’ music on music streaming platforms such as Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music, and allows creators to retain 100% of royalties.
In 2020, Monthly Active Users (MAU) of the platform grew by 400% to 100,000, YoY revenue increased by 1,273%, and the company expanded its Nashville team and opened an office in London. The company states it has a unique growth engine with low customer acquisition costs of USD 0.09 to USD 0.14. As of February 2021, the company has facilitated more than 6 million connections across 190+ countries with a network of over 750,000 users mostly based in North America, Europe, India, and Brazil. Vampr claims to have published 5,200 songs for sync opportunities (to be placed in commercials, film, TV, video games) in the first three months after relaunching in 2019 with new services: Vampr Publishing and Vampr Pro Distribution. The company expects to surpass annual revenue of USD 5 million in 3 years.
The company’s most recent funding round was in February 2021, raising GBP 570,000 (USD 790,000) in a crowdfunding campaign ahead of the company’s upcoming Series A funding round. The funds will be used for further expansion to become a “the only 360-degree self-service platform for artists”. This includes a desktop experience and new livestreaming tools which allow creators to broadcast their music performances globally.
