Accelerate Learning

Founded in 2013, Accelerate Learning provides a teacher support-focused science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum for PreK-12. The company’s product, STEMscopes, is a suite of STEM curriculum and professional development solutions developed in partnership with Rice University. The product can be used as a core curriculum or as a supplementary resource and can be adapted to varied learning environments. The suite comprises STEMscopes NGSS 3D (Next Generation Science Standards), STEMscopes Science state-level curricula, and STEMscopes Math. As of October 2021, STEMscopes was used by six million students and 600,000 teachers across all 50 states.

In May 2021, the company introduced STEMscopes DIVE-in Engineering Kits for grades 3 - 8. STEMscopes DIVE-in Engineering, introduced in 2017, was developed in partnership with the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) and supports elementary and middle school educators teaching engineering design. The STEMscopes DIVE-in Engineering Kits help teachers engage students through weekly design challenges, and are available in ten prototype options.

In October 2021, Accelerate Learning acquired Study Edge, a provider of technology-based math curriculum and tutoring with four core products: Math Nation, Lecture PAL + Edge Prep, Tutor Matching Service, and Go Board. The acquisition allows the company to expand its STEMscopes Math capabilities to offer a complete K-12 math curriculum, and augment its digital offerings.

Key customers and partnerships 

In March 2024 , Accelerate Learning and Cloudlabs, a marketplace and SaaS platform, partnered to offer Virtual STEM with more than 600 gamified simulations and 135 learning units. Students engage in virtual labs and activities that mirror real-world scenarios, building critical thinking, and problem solving skills in science, math, and STEM.
