RentSpree

RentSpree simplifies the rental process with a rental management platform that provides automated tenant screening services for landlords, agents, and property managers using tenant information such as residence history, employment and income, credit reports and scores, criminal background checks, and nationwide eviction history. Landlords are also able to approve or deny these applications using RentSpree, which also features tools that enable digital document signatures. RentSpree also offers renters insurance in partnership with Sure, a renters insurance infrastructure provider. 

The platform is offered free of charge to landlords, agents, and property managers with an additional paid tier, “RentSpree PRO”, that offers additional services such as document collection, and automated reference checks for a monthly subscription fee. Customers can also purchase rent estimate reports for their properties, for an additional cost of USD 19.99 per report. Rental applicants are charged between USD 30 - 39 per application.

Key customers and partnerships

In September 2023, RentSpree partnered with NorthStarMLS , a multiple listing service provider, to expand its platform reach across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. In May 2023, RentSpree partnered with several MLS providers including Rhode Island Association of Realtors Statewide MLS (focused on Rhode Island), Heartland MLS (focused on Kansas), Intermountain MLS (focused on the Idaho region), and REsides Inc. Through these partnerships, RentSpree planned to integrate its platform with its MLS databases to increase featured property listings and support its users with better lead generation by expanding its platform’s reach across other states within the US. In April 2023, the company partnered with Austin Board of REALTORS , a trade association serving over 18,000 real estate professionals to leverage its’ Central Texas-based real estate information via MLS integration and support the creation of ApplyLink to feature rental listings. In October 2022, RentSpree partnered with SentriLock , a manufacturer of electronic lockbox systems for residential properties and property management companies. Through this partnership, RentSpree plans to integrate SentriLock’s electronic access management systems into its rental management platform to allow users to manage property access. 

As of August 2022, RentSpree had partnered with over 250 multiple listing services (MLSs), real estate associations, brokerages, and PropTech platforms to serve over one million users. The company recorded over a 30% increase in the year-to-date average monthly rent collection. 

Funding and financials

In August 2022, the company raised USD 17.3 million in Series B funding led by Green Visor Capital. The company planned to use the funds to broaden its product offerings and support strategic partnerships.
