Hyperganic is a German additive manufacturing (AM) software provider that specializes in structural design. Its flagship platform, Hydesign, enables industrial designers, application engineers, and OEMs to create 3D-printed lattice structures. Users can import boundary surfaces as STL files from their preferred CAD tool or create boundary surfaces within HyDesign and simulate structures across various conditions. The platform provides tailored solutions for a range of AM use cases such as lightweighting, thermal management, metamaterials, mass customization tooling design, and bioengineering.
In April 2022, the company acquired DirectFM, a meshless simulation technology provider, for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition enabled it to integrate the latter’s simulation technology into its own platform to enable users to produce simulations of their early 3D models. The solution leverages a novel process named the Finite Cell Method, which the company claims can allow for the physical evaluation of complex designs within a 5% deviation from industry-standard purpose-built simulation packages.
As of July 2024, the company also announced that it was in the process of developing additional features for its platform including thermal simulation, computational fluid dynamics simulation, and parametric optimization.
Key customers and partnerships
In July 2024, the company partnered with Forward AM, the AM arm of BASF, to integrate the latter’s Ultrasim 3D Lattice Library into its flagship platform. This allows HyperGanic to offer users access to optimal combinations of lattice designs, validated materials, and printers for a range of industries.
