Voltalia is an international renewable energy company based in France. It is an independent power producer, generating electricity from wind, solar, hydropower, biomass, and energy storage facilities that it owns and operates. As of 2023, Voltalia had an installed capacity of 2.6 GW and was developing an additional 16.1 GW of renewable energy projects across 20 countries. The company is involved in all stages of the project lifecycle, from development and construction to operation and maintenance.
Voltalia's focus on innovation and sustainability has led to several notable projects. In 2023, it announced plans for a 55 MW solar and 10 MW storage project in Malawi, representing nearly 10% of the country's total installed capacity. The company also secured contracts for three new wind farms in France totaling 73 MW. Additionally, Voltalia sold two operational wind farms in France with a combined capacity of 33.1 MW while retaining maintenance and administrative services for 20 years.
In 2022, Voltalia signed a 15-year corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) with Leroy Merlin, a leading French home improvement retailer, to supply 30 MW of solar energy from a new plant in the Centre-Val de Loire region. This agreement aligned with Leroy Merlin's goal of sourcing 100% green energy for its stores by 2025.
