Seldon provides a platform that assists data scientists and developers in managing and monitoring machine learning models, ensuring governance and compliance. The platform flags issues in AI implementation and generates alerts when anomalies occur in model predictions in real time. It also provides built-in dashboards to provide visibility into model behaviors and leverages explainable AI (XAI) workflows to provide deeper insights into model behavior and bias.
The company also provides the open-source framework, Seldon Core, which focuses on model deployment; it works by converting ML models into production microservices, along with ML capabilities such as multi-armed bandits, A/B tests, shadows, and canaries. In addition, Seldon’s open source Python library facilitates ML model inspection and interpretation by providing insights into potential model output bias and refines them through retraining. The library also has built-in dashboards for outlier, adversarial, and drift detection.
Key customers and partnerships
Its notable customers include Rakuten, Johnson & Johnson, Ernst & Young, Deloitte, Audi, and PayPal.
The company partnered with Snorkel AI to facilitate the easy and quick development and deployment of AI applications by enterprises.
Funding and financials
Seldon raised USD 20 million in a Series B funding round in March 2023, led by new investor, Bright Pixel (former Sonae IM). It was to use the fresh funds to further improve its data-centric approach to AI across its product line, and to strengthen its global support function and customer success.
As of the same month, it reported that installations and running of its open-source frameworks have increased 400% YoY since its Series A funding round in November 2020.
