Knock is a platform that supports agents in buying and selling homes and helps home seekers meet property financing needs. The platform offers a range of products, such as Knock Go—a home loan facility, Home Swap—a buy before you sell scheme, Knock agent certification—to help agents support clients with home searches and in getting referrals.
Knock charges a 1.25% convenience fee per client when purchasing a home through its home swap scheme. There are no fees charged to the agents associated with the home swap transactions. It also has custom rates for its home loan facility that are based on client qualifications. The platform states that partnering property brokers and agents do not have to pay any fees or charges on commissions made.
In FY2021, Knock achieved double and triple-digit growth in transactions, revenue, and gross profit. The company has grown its geographic presence from 14 to 75 markets, and its home swap program is available across 15 states as of early 2022. In addition, it revealed that it has nearly 300 broker partners and 115,000 Knock Certified Agents.
In March 2022, Knock raised USD 220 million in funding , which comprises USD 70 million in equity and USD 150 million in debt, led by Foundry Group. It expects to reach profitability by the end of 2022, with the funding to support its goal.
