Unifly is a Belgian aviation technology company that specializes in Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM) solutions. Its cloud-based UTM platform integrates and automates drone traffic management, enabling the safe integration of drones into airspace. The platform offers features such as airspace planning, real-time mapping of drone activity, in-flight communication with air traffic controllers, and automated flight approvals. Unifly's UTM system ensures scalability to accommodate increasing numbers of drone operations and is configurable to comply with regulations in different countries.
Originally a spin-off from the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO), Unifly has successfully implemented its UTM technology in over eight countries, including Belgium, Canada, and Germany. Notable deployments include collaboration with air navigation service providers like NAV CANADA, ENAIRE (Spain), and skeyes (Belgium), as well as the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, where the system facilitates autonomous Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone flights.
In addition to its UTM platform, Unifly offers a Broadcast Location and Identification Platform (BLIP), a self-powered device that combines Remote Identification and real-time tracking capabilities. The company has also played a pioneering role in cybersecurity initiatives for UTM systems, leading projects funded by the European Space Agency and the Federal Aviation Administration to develop and validate a comprehensive cybersecurity framework.
Key customers and partnerships
